Almost a year after we knew Rafael Fernández and his wine project in Huéscar: Irving, we met him again. A real pleasure to help him to introduce his wines at the Show.

Rafael is actually a natural man who delighted the audience telling stories, curiosities and technical data about his wines, the terroir and the winery. María, who specially loves these wines and the land, provided the point of view of the sommelier with details about the tasting, the colour, the aromas...She called it: bottling landscapes.
Rafael es una persona realmente franca y deleitó a la audiencia contando anécdotas, curiosidades y datos técnicos sobre sus vinos, el terroir y la bodega. María, que ama especialmente estos vinos y su entorno, proporcionó el punto de vista del somelier con detalles sobre la cata, el color, los aromas... Lo llamó: embotellando paisajes.
The syrah is highly scored by the guides: muscular, strong black fruit, with a great storage potential. The blue label red wine is a young wine kept during two months with its yeast. Made with tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. A wine extremely fruity with notes of red fruit coming from the tempranillo variety like strawberry and raspberry and sweetly scented due to the merlot
The Irving vintage 2013 (red label), coupage of tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon, syrah y merlot -coupage from Bordeaux except for the tempranillo-. It is a wine with tremendous nose, ripe fruit and correctly structured in palate, ideal for keeping it for ages.
El syrah está muy bien puntuado por las guías: musculoso, fruta negra potente, con un gran potencial de guarda. El tinto etiqueta azul es un vino joven mantenido durante dos meses con sus lías. Elaborado con tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon y merlot. Un vino extremadamente afrutado con notas de fruta roja proveniente de la tempranillo como fresa frambuesa y dulcemente perfumado a causa de la merlot.
El Irving crianza 2013 (etiqueba roja), un coupage de tempranilla, cabernet sauvignon, syrah y merlot -coupage bordelés salvo por la tempranillo-. Es un vino con una intensa nariz, fruta madura y correctamente estructurado en el paladar, ideal para conservarlo largo tiempo aún.
The participants enjoyed the tasting in such a way that the time went by and nobody wanted to leave. The stories Rafael told, the understanding with María made this tasting a special occasion. We were lucky witnesses.
Los participantes disfrutaron la cata del tal manera que el tiempo pasó y nadie quería salir. Las historias que Rafael contó y la complicidad con María hicieron de esta cata una ocasión especial de la que fuimos afortunados testigos.
There is no limit to become a wine lover. She is 88 years old, born before the Second Republic in Spain, still young to drink wine.
No hay límite para convertirse en amante del vino. Tiene 88 años, nacida antes de la Segunda República española, todavía joven para beber vino.
